From the Himalayan mountain ranges to the Indian Ocean, from Desert to the Rainforests or from the wheat and rice fields to the tea plantation, the landscape of one part of India is very different from the other one and it also applies to the culture, cuisine, rituals and languages. Either the architecture or the history of this country or the spirituality and wellness, everything attracts the tourist, both domestic and foreign. And with the guest-friendly, simple and helpful people, India is a place that always rests in the brain of a tourist.

There are a few criteria that a tourist takes into account before visiting a country –

Climate – India is a year-round country. Every season offers something special to the tourists.

Infrastructure – Almost all sights in India offer good train, road or flight options and also good entertainment options.

Political stability – The largest democracy in the world is politically stable not only in the center but also in almost all the states. Political developments do not affect daily lives of the people.

Security – With some precautions and simple awareness, the concern of security is not a major concern when it comes to traveling in India.

Cost-Efficiency – India is one of the most economical countries when it comes to currency exchange and spending.

On all these criteria, India stands high and therefore becomes a favorite place for a tourist.

Despite all the measures taken by the government, there is still a lot of room for improvement to boost tourism in India. Here are some suggestions that can lead to improvement in tourism in India:-

Infrastructure improvement – In many places in India there is a lack of good infrastructure for tourism. They demand better connectivity and health care, especially for the disabled, the elderly and children.

With better infrastructure, telephone and internet connections, people can access the help of security and health personnel in emergencies.

Hygiene and Cleanliness – Many tourist places and famous monuments lack cleanliness and proper sanitation. A sufficient number of washrooms and toilets must be provided in such places. Changing rooms should also be set up on beaches and near other bodies of water so that tourists, especially women, feel comfortable while changing.

Updating Tourist Websites – The official tourist websites in India should be updated to clearly inform tourists about various things.

Vocal for Local – Tourists should use local products, travel by public transport. You should especially stay in remote and small places with local hosts. The central and state governments should also try to encourage domestic tourists to travel more in India and explore their own country.

With all these measures, tourism in India can be expected to witness a new peak. Both domestic and foreign tourists will discover India’s hidden treasures in terms of landscape, culture, cuisine and spirituality.
